A Heart Divided is the story of the murder of Lanell Barsock by Larene Austin and the love story of Larene Austin and Lanell Barsock. Neither of these true stories turns out well for Lanell .
Larene Austin is convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years to life. Larene attempted to frame Lannel's boyfriend, but created a trail of clues leading right to her.
TV One describes this episode in Season five as Lanell is killed by a gunshot that she never saw coming in the garage of her dream home by an unknown killer..
